AirAsia, also known as AirAsia Berhad, is a low cost Malaysian airline that operates domestic as well as international flights to more than 100 cities across 22 countries. Headquartered in Kuala Lampur, AirAsia operates the world's lowest unit cost of US$0.023 per available seat kilometres (ASK) and a passenger break-even load factor of 52%. The airline was described as a ‘pioneer of low cost travel in Asia’ by the New York Times. The registered office of AirAsia is at Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Air Asia Operation

AirAsia is among the fastest growing low-cost airline in the world. Started in the year 2001 with just 2 old aircrafts and staff of 250, today, AirAsia operates in over 88 destinations and carry over 220 million passengers. Currently the airline has over 150 Airbus A320s in service and another 200 orders have been placed for the new A320s. While the capacity of Airbus A320s is of 180 passengers, the Airbus A330 can accommodate 377 guests. The airlines will be in possession of around 475 airbuses by the year 2015, making it the single biggest customer of Airbus’.
